today's session was a gift to Jodie from her good friend, Amy. We battled wind, high tides and just after we ended it started pouring....(and then Bec and I stopped to watch 3 poor guys trying to get their catamaran upright again in gale force winds! Today Fiona and I headed over to Redcliffe to do a shoot with Jodie and Braedon. We had originally planned to do more of a beach shoot but the weather had other plans. With a bit of looking around we managed to find some awesome sheltered locations where we could escape the wind and photograph these two lovebirds.

We found this great tree not far from the beach. It was such a cool secluded spot.

Yena & Patrick | Brisbane Wedding Photographer

When I woke up this morning I was greeted with a wet, windy day and I held little hope for our planned engagement shoot with Yena and Patrick. In the end we decided to go ahead with whatever the weather threw at us and I'm glad we did. We had clouds, we had sun, we had rain but most of all we had fun. As Fiona mentioned, Kangaroo point is an awesome spot for a shoot and I can see carsonhall using it more in the future.

How sweet is this couple? Yena and Patrick have been together for 4 years now, and are getting married next year. They are both a little bit shy, and a little bit quiet, a little bit gorgeous, and oh so very sweet, ! They were willing to do anything we wanted them to...which of course, works for us!!!

Kangaroo Point is a lovely place for photos. Definitely one to think about if you are looking for locations for your shoot. So many delicious textures, lines and lovely little nooks all over.

Shilo and Brett | Brisbane Wedding Photographers

Yesterday's wedding between Shilo and Brett was so intimate and sweet with a total of 5 guests and their 2 gorgeous kids. The day was really summed up by their daughter, Georgie, when she told me she "nearly started crying at the wedding".

Blake and Christie have asked Fiona and I to shoot their wedding in October. During our first meeting with them we all decided it would be cool to do an Engagement shoot together, as kind of like a "get to know you" exercise before the wedding. We all had a fantastic afternoon and Blake and Christie were dream clients. Well, after Bec and I experienced the cold of Melbourne last weekend, we then got to experience the HOT of Brisbane at this weekend's wedding! It had been forecast for rain, so we were so grateful for the absolutely perfect weather that actually happened!

A big shout out to Michelle from Bedazzled Events, for allowing the whole day to run so smoothly, and for helping us out too! She did an amazing job, she really did!

Lexie & Troy | Melbourne Wedding Photographers

Yep, as Fiona mentioned in her post, this wedding took us all the way to Melbourne. Wow, what a beautiful city it is too!!

Lexie and Troy picked a magical location for this special occassion and for two nature lovers, it was a perfect choice! They had bees (lots of them), cows, geese and even their own little bambi! It was a gorgeous day!

well, this wedding took Bec and I all the way to Melbourne - and I'm ever so grateful! I went to school with Lexie, so when she contacted me to ask if I knew of any photographers in Melbourne, my response was "have camera, will travel"...or something along those lines. I had never been to Melbourne before, so I took my husband with me, and Bec took hers too. I absolutely fell in love with the city, and am already planning my next trip back! Might have to take the kids with me next time though, so no sleep ins!!!

That's what it felt like today - One Perfect Day. Well, One Perfect Session anyway! Kieran and Val are the most adorable couple, and were so unbelievably natural in front of the camera! They seriously made our job ridiculously easy today! I had so much fun doing this one....gorgeous light, and gorgeous couple!

Fiona and I had the pleasure of photographing THE COOLEST couple today. Kieran and Val were not only extremely photogenic but they were also complete naturals in front of the camera. They needed no direction and it hardly felt like work at all, doing this shoot. I have to admit I'm kinda bummed that Kieran and Val are leaving for Darwin tomorrow and won't be around for us to photograph more often.

I was lovely meeting you both and I hope you enjoy Darwin. If you come back to Brisbane please, please, please look us up. We would love to do another shoot with you guys.

Yesterday Fiona and I had the pleasure of photographing Cass and Franco's Wedding day. You may remember them from our Ekka Engagement shoot last year.

Right from the beginning it has been so obvious that these two people are absolutely, positively, totally in love with eachother. What I loved about this wedding was just how happy their family and friends were and how much Cass and Franco mean to them all. This was evident in the wonderful speeches we heard last night and I have to admit, that I even shed a tear or two during them.

Jane & Bob | Wedding Photographers in Brisbane

Please excuse my delayed response - I've been too busy living it up in Yamba!

As Bec mentioned, we were there yesterday (actually, I was there since Thursday!) to capture the excitement and joy of Jane and Bob's wedding. I've known these guys for quite a few years (and I'm pretty sure Bob actually helped me change a tyre many years ago when I was totally clueless!). We hadn't been in contact for quite some time, so it was a pleasure for me especially to have been there to capture everything on their very special day.

So, enough of my rambling, here are my photos for your sneak peek guys!

I swear I didn't eat any of these little guys. No really, I didn't. Ok, maybe one or eight.

Jane's dress was gorgeous - classic and beautiful, just like her!

As heavy as this bouquet apparently was (Jano will attest to the cramping in her hands!), it was absolutely stunning

Doesn't she just glow? (and yes, that was absolutely the coolest car I've ever seen!)

Loved those sugar cane fields - pity we were scared of snakes to have ventured in any further!

I didn't hear the story about all the snakes having being caught or these is no way I would've got this one!

Jane & Bob | Brisbane Wedding Photographers

Yesterday we had the pleasure of travelling to Yamba and photographing Bob and Janes wedding. I have to admit I was a little weary from the early start, until we walked into Janes villa. The buzz of excitement was contagious. Everyone was so happy and friendly and it was obvious that Jane and Bob are loved by many family and friends.

Jane and Bob, Thank you for a wonderful day and thank you also, for introducing me to Yamba. I've fallen in love with the place. Jane you looked absolutely gorgeous (the whole bridal party did actually) and Bob, we couldn't have asked for a more layed back, co-operative groom to work with. When we saw this field we just knew we had to use it. Of course it wasn't till after we came out of there that someone told us they had caught 5 Brown Snakes near there just days before!!
You have to love afternoon light and awesome locations!
This car was lovingly restored by Jane's Step-dad and used as the Bridal car. It's certainly one of the nicest bridal cars we've come across so far.
Yamba lighthouse, a cool red car, a blue sky and a good looking bride and groom...what more could Wedding Photographers ask for?!?!

Johnny and Lauren | Brisbane Wedding Photographer

Yesterday we captured Johnny and Lauren on their wedding day. Lauren was a bundle of energy from the moment she answered the door at the gorgeous Stamford Plaza. I don't know how she did it, but she kept up that gorgeous grin all day long!

This will be a continual post, as it was a huge day! It started off with a Chinese Tea Ceremony, then back to the Stamford to get ready for the second ceremony for the day! Tell me, how amazing are these flapper style bridesmaid dresses? We used them as inspiration for some 1920's type photos!

It was a wonderful day, so I'll definitely come back to share more photos, but for now, here is the first sneek peak!

We have exciting news!! Carsonhall photography is holding a Trash the Dress competition. We're giving you the chance to win a free TTD session with us, so why not dust off that wedding dress and enter now! Conditions of entry are:

1. You must have been married in the last 5 years
2. You must email us a photo of you in your dress
3. You must tell us in 100 words or less why you would love a free TTD session
4. You must reside in Brisbane/Sunshine Coast/Gold Coast (unless you wish to pay for us to fly to you of course!)

The winner will be announced on Monday 3rd November and will be notified by Email as well as posted here.

Remember, a trash the dress sessions isn't about destroying your wedding dress. It's about relaxing, having fun and getting some fantastic photos without having to worry about getting a bit of water, sand or dirt on your dress. From previous experience (Fiona and I have both donated out wedding dresses for TTD shoots) the dress comes up good as new after a wash or dry cleaning. We're not about destruction, we're about having fun.

Well it's late, and it's been a huge (but very fun) day...so forgive me if I sound delirious - but I wanted to get some photos up for these guys as as of tomorrow I am off on holiday (whoop whoop for me). The scenery at this place was to die for - I must go back there another time with my own boys - just so beautiful.

Firstly, can I just tell you how cute little Claire is? The shoes, oh the shoes. Bec commented on how they looked like the shoes were in their own little Secret Garden here - she's right, don't you think?

Firstly, I would just like to add that if *someone* knew how to read a map, we wouldn't have to rely on my bad sense of direction. Can't direct AND drive dude, can I? LOL.

It was all good though, my bad sense of direction, and bad GPS entry didn't get us into any trouble at all. We didn't even get a ticket when I had to park in a loading zone. Or when I forgot to go back and put more money in the meter.

It was such a gorgeous day today - that sunshine was exactly what my sun starved body needed. Oh and it was great for Susie and Pete too! Speaking of Suse, what a gorgeous bride!!! She looked so stunning. Pete looked pretty cool too, I must say. This was such a fun wedding....thanks so much guys, we had a ball. Enjoy your images and we'll catch up soon.

Susie and Peter

Today Fiona and I had the pleasure of shooting Susie and Peters wedding day. It was a gorgeous day. The sun was shining, the temperature was warm, the view was glorious and romance was in the air.

We started off at Susie's place. Oh what I wouldn't give to wake up to that view every day!! After getting some photos of the girls, we moved on to the ceremony where we only JUST made it in time thanks to Fiona and her wonderful sense of direction (note the sarcasm please people). Anyway, as it turned out the bride was also running late so all was good. After a beautiful ceremony we spent time shooting in the local alleys and shops and as the sun went down we headed for the beach. Nothing better than that late afternoon sun!

I can confirm for those interested that yes, Fiona did giggle like a schoolgirl once those sideshow alley lights came on. She did have good reason to be excited though. We were working with the cutest, most willing couple ever, we had a fantastic backdrop and we were doing what we love doing best.

As Fiona has mentioned, Cass and Franco were amazing. There were happy to do anything we asked and I think they may have even managed to finish off a whole bag of fairy floss while doing it!

We had a great time guys and we can't wait to photograph your wedding!

EKKA EKKA EKKA!

Oh how I love the Ekka. I wish it was Ekka time all the time. This shoot was so amazingly fun, and you should have seen me once the lights came on. I swear I started giggling like a silly little schoolgirl!!! Wouldn't it be fun to do a shoot like this all the time? Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes please!

So this is Cass and Franco. We are photographing their wedding next year (so go organise that dress, Cass!!!!). Seriously, with everything we did with this shoot (and we were there for quite a few hours), not once did Franco complain. Apparently he never complains. I want to know why he doesn't hang out with my husband some more...maybe it would rub off??????

anyway, guys, enjoy the first half of your sneak peek. This was the most fun shoot I've ever done...I can't wait for the wedding (maybe we can find some more cows for that too?????)

Jane and Jason's Nudgee Blessing

This one is actually my dad - this is where he used to sit in the chapel when he was a young whipper snapper!!! thought it would be cute to get him sitting there again!

Yesterday Bec and I had the pleasure of photographing a blessing at Nudgee College Chapel. Jane and Jason have actually been married for over 7 years, and apparently this is their 3rd wedding!!!! When you are onto a good thing, huh?

Unfortunately, the weather was horrible, which made it hard for us - we had been imagining gorgeous outside, garden photos. Nevermind - Jane looked absolutely stunning (and check out those shoes!!!), and let's face it - who can resist a man in uniform!

After a very early start to the day, Bec and I travelled to Cabarita Beach for Nat and Heath's wedding. These guys were so relaxed - I'm sure Bec and I were more nervous than they were (especially ultra relaxed, Heath!). Nat looked absolutely stunning, and we were so lucky - 20mins after we had finished photos on the beach, it started pouring!

As Fiona said, we have decided to join forces and start "Carson Hall Photography". We specialise in Weddings, Engagements and Couples.

Well, I'll kick off with the first post.

I'm the Carson half of Carson Hall Photography. My name is Fiona, and I am a 30-something mother of 2 boys. My very good friend, Rebecca (who will pop in here shortly) and I have decided to go into business together to photograph weddings, engagements, and any other couple type shoots.

We shot our first wedding over the weekend, so once Bec has come in to introduce herself, we'll get some images up for you to gush over!
